Research & Teaching

The School offers degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. At the Bachelor’s level, the School offers a BS degree in Physics, a BS degree in Computational and Data Sciences, and BA and BS degrees in Astronomy. At the doctoral level, the School also offers a PhD degree in Physics, and a PhD degree in Computational Sciences and Informatics. At the Master’s level, the School offers an MS degree in Applied and Engineering Physics, and an MS degree in Computational Science. An accelerated, five-year BS/MS program is also available. The School also offers a Graduate Certificate in Computational Techniques and Applications.

The research interests of the School’s faculty span a wide range of fields involving Astronomy, Computational Sciences, Data Science, and Physics. These include: Applied Physics, Astrobiology, Astroinformatics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Atmospheric Physics, Atomic Physics, Biological Physics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Computational Physics, Computational Statistics, Condensed Matter Physics, Data Science, Mathematical Physics, Material Science, Nonlinear Dynamics, Particle and Nuclear Physics, Physical Chemistry, Planetary Science, and Space Weather, Solar Physics, and Magnetospheric Physics.
