Research & Teaching
Research in physics at the University of Glasgow is divided into the broad areas of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Gravitational Waves, Optics, Materials & Condensed Matter, Nuclear Physics, and Particle Physics.
The Experimental Particle Physics group collaborates on many international experiments such as ATLAS, LHCb, NA62 and CLICdp at CERN, and work in the group has had far-reaching impact over many years in areas including Medical Imaging and Grid computing.
Research in the Particle Physics Theory group focuses on the behaviour of the strong force and models of new physics.
Our undergraduate degrees and taught postgraduate degrees are highly rated and we offer many opportunities for PhD study.
