Research & Teaching
The Instituto de Física Corpuscular is a joint centre of the Spanish Science Council (CSIC) and the University of Valencia. With more than 200 staff members and a recognised international impact, it is one of the most important high-energy physics research centres in Spain and it is part of the Severo Ochoa Excellence Programme. The research at IFIC includes both theoretical and experimental lines, among them:
- High-energy physics phenomenology
- Involvement in the ATLAS, LHCb and MoEDAL experiments
- Hadronic physics
- Astroparticle and neutrino physics
- Involvement in the DUNE, T2K, KM3NeT and NEXT experiments
- Nuclear physics
- Black holes and quantum aspects of gravitation
- Medical physics
The members of IFIC are actively dedicated to teaching, both at the undergraduate and graduate level at the University of Valencia and in programmes for high school teachers in partnership with CEFIRE.
