Research & Teaching

Theoretical and experimental research on High Energy Physics, Gravitation and Quantum Filed Theory, Chemistry of Radiation, Radiochemical, Matter Structure and related areas, are developed at Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares
(ICN) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). This is the largest university of Mexico, located in the center of the country, in Mexico City.

The experimental particle physics program includes many experiments in different laboratories: ALICE at the LHC, AUGER, JEM-EUSO, HAWC, MiniBooNE, DAMIC. The institute is also active in GRID/distributed computing and its Computing Center hosts one Tier 2 of the ALICE experiment, and it host the main storage of the HAWC data.

The Institute take part on different activities of the undergraduate physics (Science  Faculty), Postgraduate in
Physics Science (PCF), Astronomy and Chemistry programs of the UNAM.
The research members of the ICN offer lectures for all those different levels, inside and outside of UNAM.
