Research & Teaching
BUAP is among the largest state universities in Mexico providing education at college, undergraduate and graduate levels in a broad range of knowledge areas. Research is also developed in many scientific areas through both national and international projects.
In the FCFM (Physics and Mathematics Faculty) research in the physical sciences includes the fields of High Energy Physics, Astrophysics, General Relativity, Medical Physics, Optics, Statistical Physics, Materials Science and Biophysics. In particular FCFM is involved in large experiments in High Energy Physics and Astrophysics like the ALICE and CMS experiments at the LHC, the Pierre Auger Observatory and the HAWC experiment.
Two graduate and two undergraduate programs in physics are offered at FCFM. Thirty-four students enrolled in the graduate programs conduct their research work in High Energy Physics and Astrophysics in both experimental and theoretical topics.
