The local INFN Unit and the Physics Department of Perugia University are focused on theoretical and experimental physics in a wide list of subjects. Particle and nuclear physics, astrophysics and solid state physics are only few of the fields where scientists working in Perugia concentrate their effort. All the INFN and University research projects are performed in collaboration with the most advanced instruments and in the top-leading laboratories around the world. Theoretical studies are conducted within String Theory, multi-bodies systems, particle physics phenomenology and condensed matter with several international collaboration.

Physics can be studied in Perugia with the full 3 level italian courses: Bachelor, Master and PhD in Physics.
