Research & Teaching The research activities of the Physics Laboratory span across a diversity of topics including Detector Physics and Instrumentation, Data Acquisition design and integration, Monte Carlo Simulation, Signal Processing and Data Analysis as well as Educational Technology and Physics Education. The Physics Laboratory contributes to the research efforts of international and national collaborations in the field of Particle and Astroparticle Physics. The Physics Laboratory offers experimental skills and competencies to students of the HOU undergraduate programme Studies in Natural Sciences, as well as advanced training and support for students of the HOU postgraduate programs Advanced studies in Physics and Master in Teaching Natural Sciences.

Outreach The Physics Laboratory of HOU leads the efforts for the development and long-term operation of a Greek school network of educational cosmic ray telescopes that will be installed at high school laboratories in the geographical region of Peloponnese. In addition, the project includes the development of remotely operated experimental devices and the utilization of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) extensive air shower array (Astroneu array), in order to provide access to any high school, independently of its geographical position.
