Research & Teaching
The Second
Physical Institute carries out research in particle physics, nuclear solid state physics, ion beam physics and nano-physics. The particle physics group works mainly on the ATLAS experiment at CERN
in Geneva, where the fundamental symmetries in our universe are studied with large particle colliders.
The Physics
Department consists of the institutes of
astrophysics,
solid state
physics, nuclear and atomic
physics (elementary particle physics), biophysics, semiconductor
physics, theoretical
physics, geo-physics, material
physics, non-linear
dynamics and X-ray
physics.
Members of
the institute of particle physics offer numerous lectures
and classes in nuclear and particle
physics as part of the Physics courses (BSc and MSc).
