Research at the Faculty of Physics at the RWTH Aachen University focuses on Particle Physics, Condensed Matter and Astrophysics.

The III. Physics Institutes A and B contribute to many experiments in the field of particle physics. Among them are CMS, the Pierre Auger Observatory, Ice Cube and many more.

The Institutes provide various lectures and lab courses in Experimental Physics and Particle Physics as part of the physics courses (B. Sc. and M. Sc.). The Graduate School "Particle and Astroparticle Physics in the Light of LHC" offers grants to students working on their doctoral thesis in experimental or theoretical Particle Physics.
