Research & Teaching The University of Tuzla (est. 1976) is a public university located in Tuzla, and it’s the most important and major educational and scientific institution in northeast Bosnia and Herzegovina. Department of Phyiscs is one of the five departments at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Tuzla. It has been established at the same time as the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics or short PMF (Prirodno-matematički fakultet), in 2001. Until this year, it has been a part of the study group of Mathematics and Physics at Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and as such it was focused on educational work in physics and mathematics, educating physics and mathematics teachers. But with the foundation of PMF, and Department of Physics, research in physics has come into focus, besides education. Bachelor and master studies in physics are offered for students, and doctoral studies are offered every few years depending on student interests.
